About me

From code to the wild

Hello, I’m Gabriel and my life is a study in contrasts. By profession, I am a Software Engineer, navigating a world of logic, algorithms, and digital precision. I haven’t left that world behind—it is part of who I am.

But when I moved to Scotland, everything changed.

Surrounded by the rugged Highlands and the unpredictable drama of the Scottish weather, I realised I needed a counterweight to the digital screen. I picked up a camera not to escape my reality, but to expand it.

I discovered that wildlife photography requires the same discipline as engineering, meticulous planning and technical precision, but applied to a world that cannot be controlled. Now, I balance the structured syntax of code with the raw, untamed chaos of nature. The camera became my reason to step out into the rain, to wait in the silence, and to witness the stories that exist offline.

My philosophy

Ethic first

The welfare of the animal always comes before the shot. I never bait, harass, or stress wildlife to get a reaction. I believe in documenting reality, not staging it.

authenticity

What you see is what happened. I use post-processing to enhance the mood and light, but never to alter the truth of the moment. No AI generation, no fake elements.

conservation

Photography has the power to change minds. I collaborate with conservation projects to ensure that future generations can witness these creatures in the wild, not just in museums.
